Ballet, Dance, and Tap

Madi started dance today, and loved every minute!! If you ask Madi what she did today she will tell you she did ballet, dance, and tap. Look out rockettes here we come.

A Better Place

On August 21, 2008, Chris's grandmother passed away. She had an amazing life married to Grandaddy for 60 wonderful years and living in Texas, Louisiana, and overseas. She was such a role model for me as a wife and mother and I am so honored to have been part of her life. We are so happy that Caleb and Madi were able to get to know her and be such an integral part of her life. She never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them. She attended birthday parties, programs, and found any other reason to spend some extra time with them. I will always remember her laugh, her smile, and her generosity. Her memory will never be forgotten. She collected cookbooks and cooking magazines. While cleaning out her garage, we found numerous hand written recipes, however, her favorite recipe was a recipe for life -- faith, family, and friends.

First Day of First Grade

Today was Caleb's first day of first grade. He was very excited when he woke up today. All weekend long he would remind us how many more days until he was a first grader. Well, today was the big day!

Caleb's New Room

Caleb's Great Grandmother gave him this desk and he is very excited to do his first grade homework on it.
Look, he is already getting ready for first grade, catching up on some reading.
Today, we worked on Caleb's room. We painted the walls in summertime and the doors and trim in white. The curtains are hung and the desk is in place. Now all we need are a few more decorative touches and it will be complete.
