Summer Bowling League

Eric, Chris, Jason, & Daniel -- "The Strikeouts"

The Holy Rollers -- Rachel, Emily, Melissa, and Christi
Not pictured -- Honoray member, Anita, she moved a couple of weeks ago, but she wll always be part of our team.
Also not pictured -- Julie, the best substitute bowler -- she brings our average up!! :)

My camera went dead as I was taking the pictures of the guys, so I will get one next week and add it to the blog. You can see Chris, Daniel, and part of Jason in the background smiling for our picture.

This summer, Chris and I have been a part of a summer bowling league through our church. There are 12 teams total and we bowl every Monday night. It has been a lot of fun and we will miss it when it is over, especially, the three free games a day! Our two teams consist of couples from our Sunday School class and some other friends. The wives are on one team -- "The Holy Rollers", and the husbands make up another team -- "The Strike-outs". Well, let's just say The Strike-outs have some great players and The Holy Rollers play for fun, not really to win. I believe as of last week, we were tied for last place. Hey, at least there is another team that struggles like we do. Our husbands, however, are tied for second place. They are really good.

On Monday night, it was finally time to bowl each other. We had been waiting for this night all season. Our handicap is really high, so the guys had to bowl exceptionally well in order to beat us. The interesting thing is they bowled really well, but so did we. On our first game, we all bowled over 100, which is very uncharacteristic of our bowling record. We actually won! Poor guys, they couldn't believe it! The second game, we didn't do as well, and the guys won. We were all tied up, so it came down to the last game. The girls were in the lead most of the game and then as the game came to a close, we calculated the pin count, and amazingly, the girls won again! And to top it off, we won the overall pin count as well!!! It was a lot of fun and the guys were great sports about it, even though we rubbed it in a little bit. :) Hopefully, they will remain on the top of the leader board, and maybe we can move out of last place. Unfortunately, after church last night, we went back to the bowling alley to play for fun and the boys beat us. Well, I guess things are back to normal.

King's Orchard

We went to King's Orchard today and picked fresh blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries. It was the end of the strawberry season, but they were still delicious. They were juicy and fabulous. We went with some friends from church an the kids had a ball! Here are some of the pictures of our fun day!

Field Day

Uncle Michael and Aunt Meaghan came to see me!

This looks much harder than it looks.

The Belly Boppers station was Caleb's favorite. He took a tumble several times, but got up and bumped his friends over and over.

Hula Hooping is fun!

Can you see the pattern in the cup stacking?

Caleb had a fan club during his relay races...his sister Madi and his cousin, Jackson.

This race, Caleb and his classmates had to soak up water in a sponge, then squeeze it into a bucket before the other team finished.

It looks like that Spiderman bouncy ball Santa brought Caleb helped him out a lot for this race!

After the relay races, all of the kids got popsicles to help them cool off.

Nana came to see me run as fast as I could!

It was Field Day on Friday and Caleb participated in relay races and other fun events all morning long.

Caleb's 6th Birthday Party

Table decorations with goodie bags

Caleb enjoyed riding the horse. Now he wants one of his own.

I wonder what he wished for, a horse, maybe...
Caleb, Cooper, and Ashton checking out their goodie bags.
Madison's 1st ride on a horse.
Daddy loves pushing Madi on the swings.
Lunch was yummy...chick-fil-a nuggets and chips.
Caleb is getting so big! He can crawl across the monkey bars without help!
Isn't she so cute?
Caleb, Ashton, and Cooper...doesn't this look like trouble waiting to happen?
Well, after several weeks of preparation, Caleb finally had his cowboy birthday party at the Oil Ranch. He and several friends played hard, rode horses, milked and fed cows, rode a train, and went on a hayride. We had a great day, and only had one catastrophe. I made a cowboy boot cupcake cake, and the wind just got the better of me. I dropped all of the cupcakes on the ground. DISASTER!!!!!! Chris called his mother and she went to Kroger and found a small cake that we made into a cowboy themed cake. All in all, it really was a great day and everyone had fun!

Happy Birthday, Caleb!!!

Well, does he look 6? This morning, Caleb woke up all by himself to his brand new alarm clock, put on a birthday shirt, and ran around the house all excited about his 6th birthday! Tonight we are taking him for his birthday dinner at McDonalds (his pick, of course) and then we are off to church! On Saturday, we are taking him and some of his friends to the Oil Ranch for a big party!
